Eberechi Eze remains on Tottenham’s Radar despite the Attacking Midfielder’s Release Clause being an Issue.

FabrizioRomano has confirmed that Eberechi Eze remains on Tottenham’s shortlist of targets but his release clause makes any move a difficulty.

“He’s on Spurs list since 2023, he’s always been highly rated at the club. But the release clause is very expensive.”

”The payment for the clause is not allowed in 3/4 years as it usually happens, so that’s what makes the deal difficult – and there are more clubs also keen.”

The Release clause currently stands at £68,000,000 written into his contract. That clause included a £60m initial fee for his services with a further £8m in add-ons. It will be another tough tug of war for Daniel Levy whose track record with negotiating with Crystal Palace this season has been nothing short of a misery.

The 26 year-old Attacking Midfielder registered an impressive 11 goals and 4 assists in the 2023/24 season, and 10 goals and 4 assists in the 2022/23 season. Which prompted Palace to push for a contract extension in 2023 to include this clause as an extra layer of protection. He has currently scored 2 goals and registered 6 assists in the current 2024/25 season.

It’s not just goals and assists you should be judging players ability on. Eze’s part in creating big chances and duels have been a highlight of his talent.

His consistency plays a big part in how clubs and fans view him, he’s always been a team player full of energy and seems comfortable within his current playing stature. Do you think he would flourish under Ange Postecoglou’s system?

Other clubs are also interested in the Winger, Manchester United & Arsenal are also reportedly keeping Eze on their radar, but meet the same issue with the Release Clause.
